Decorative Mirrors - How to Use Them

This item was filled under [ Home & Garden Decor ]

For most of us, buying a home is a very sweet dream. Once the dream is fulfilled, we go around finding articles and artifacts to decorate the house uniquely, but of course as per the depth of the pocket. A recent trend seen in house decoration is the use of mirrors of various hues, sizes, shapes and frames to give the interiors of the house a welcoming effect.

Small mirrors placed in sequence along the wall as a ribbon can weave magic in your living room. Frames made of wood and brass are the most sought after for sheathing bigger mirrors. A good quality frame adds to the drama unfolding in your rooms. Mirrors placed along side or around a piece of art can accentuate the effect and proclaim the aesthetic sense of the owner.

Doors inlaid with mirrors and furniture with embedded mirrors adds to their charm and acceptability. I have also seen living rooms where one of the walls is totally covered by a huge mirror and small antique pieces placed before them. The aim of keeping these wall covering mirrors is to make the room appear larger than it actually is.

Strategically placed mirrors also help you to look into the nook and corners of your house without actually kneeling down or poking your head in. Mirrors placed in the shape or peacocks or flower vases or any other attractive forms on your living room walls can just inflame jealousy of the onlooker. In short, mirrors can act as decorative as well practically useful artefacts for the denizens of the house.
